Editorial and fact-check policy

Sourcing

Fees, validity periods, deadlines, required documents and issuing agencies come from the agency’s own domain or its own published document — nepc.gov.ng, naqs.gov.ng, customs.gov.ng, cbn.gov.ng, nafdac.gov.ng, son.gov.ng, or the relevant body’s own site. Every page lists the sources it was built from.

When we will not publish a number

If a figure cannot be traced to the agency that charges it, it does not appear here as a figure. We state that it is unpublished and describe what we checked. A number you cannot source is a number that will be wrong at the counter.

Statutory fees versus agents’ fees

Wherever money is mentioned we separate what the government collects from what a service provider charges. Bundling the two is the most common way first-time exporters are overcharged.

Dating and re-verification

Every page carries the date its figures were last read from source, shown in the stamp. Pages covering fees and deadlines are re-verified at least quarterly, and any page whose source document is revised is re-checked when we learn of the revision.

Corrections

Report an error through contact. Verified corrections are applied to the page and the verification date is updated. Where a correction changes a figure a reader may have acted on, the change is noted on the page rather than made silently.

Independence

We take no payment from registration agents, freight forwarders or any party whose service is described on this site, and there are no affiliate links in our guidance.
